May 28--Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier, Iowa, Obituaries
WATERLOO -- William "Bill" C. Minard, 88, of Waterloo, died Thursday, May 24, at Covenant Medical Center of natural causes.
He was born June 18, 1918, in Waterloo, son of Carl Henry and Sophia Dorthea Wackerhahn Minard. He married Zelda May Cooley on Sept. 26, 1944, at First Lutheran Church, Waterloo.
He graduated from West Waterloo High School and served as a motor machinist's mate first class in the U.S. Navy from 1939 to 1945.
Mr. Minard was employed as a millwright foreman with Rath Packing Co., then with the city of Waterloo Street Department as a welder.
