May 31--When the members of the City Honors volleyball team decided to apply for a grant from the Women's Sports Foundation they didn't just want to win, they wanted to make a difference for younger girls.
Both Chantel Benton, a sophomore, and Alysia Negron, a freshman, couldn't contain their smiles and enthusiasm when they talked about the program -- a series of three clinics they conducted for girls at the Waterfront Middle School. And it turns out the chance to teach volleyball and health skills to younger girls was more exciting than winning one of the grants.
