May 31--In 1990, a Chinese architect named Kai Wang came to a Memphis firm to learn American hospital design methods.
He planned to remain just one year, but his stay lasted nearly a decade and helped the firm, now part of Boston-based TRO Jung | Brannen, win several contracts to design major hospitals in China.
Five are complete in cities including Shanghai to Tianjin, and two more are under construction.
