This is the season when many deciduous plants at nurseries will be wearing their fall colors. Shop now for the trees and shrubs whose autumn foliage color fits best in your garden, and plant immediately to give them all winter to send out roots.
You're likely to sec many of the following plants at nurseries, depending on where you live. Barberry (Berberis thunbergii), with bright berries and flame-colored leaves, grows well everywhere.
