BARABOO -- It's taken nearly 20 years for Madsion LaFollette's softball team to reach the state tournament again, and Kim Liegel's split-second decision to run home from second base in the bottom of the seventh inning is what got the Lancers there.
The seventh-seeded Lancers (13-11) advanced to state after defeating top-seeded Holmen 1-0 in a WIAA Division 1 sectional final Thursday at Pierce Park.
