Jun. 2--When John Haefli first met Jim Smith, neither had any idea the kind of impact they would have on the Greeley tennis community. In fairness, Haefli probably didn't know his multiplication tables at the time, either.
But at 4 years old, Haefli knew one thing: He wanted to know everything.
Perched on Smith's wooden sawhorse on the steps of the house Smith was building in 1961, Haefli asked question after question to the man who was to become one of his dearest friends.
