Xbox is set to ramp up its marketing activity on mobile.

The move is part of plans to develop more channels on which consumers can access content and communicate through Xbox Live.

Dom McBrien, Xbox head of online marketing for Europe, said the console giant has often ignored mobile. But now it recognises that it does work in the gaming space and that more could, and will, be done.

"We do good work in the mobile area here in the UK, including all the basic stuff quite well, such as giving people the opportunity to put screensavers on their mobiles," he said.
