PAXTON Dorothy G. Fairbanks, 85, retired secretary to the Northboro Board of Selectmen and onetime acting town administrator, died Wednesday, May 30 at her home in Paxton.
Known to everyone as Dot, she was a temporary town employee who, over the course of a 12-year career, rose through the ranks to become secretary to the Board of Selectmen, a post she held for 8 years. Dot also served briefly as acting town administrator, the town's top job, in the 1980s and was known for her desire to help people and her seemingly endless knowledge of town government.
