Emida Technologies Inc. and Q Comm International Inc., providers of prepaid wireless, financial and money-transfer products, today announced they have agreed to merge and create what they are calling one of the largest providers of prepaid products in the industry. The new company, which will be known as Emida, will have a network of more than 21,000 retail locations in 21 countries worldwide. The network will support a combined annual dollar payment volume in excess of $456 million and process 34 million prepaid transactions annually, according to a joint statement.
