Russia won't be dragged into new arms race - Russian President Putin
MOSCOW. June 4 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin said Monday that he is opposed to an arms race.
"We have taken the experience of the Soviet Union into account and will not get involved in the arms race that is being imposed on us," Putin told journalists from G8 countries. "We will not be responding equally but by other methods and means that are no less effective. This is called asymmetrical response."
