Jun. 2--CANTON -- A Canton farm that has won prizes for its cheese is selling bottled goat milk.
"We thought if we could sell milk, maybe we wouldn't have to do so much curd," said Shirley A. Hitchman, who runs County Meadows with her husband, Donald F. "We just talked about it all through the winter."
The couple devised a bottler they thought might work, got the OK from the state Department of Agriculture & Markets, and had a valve custom-made to attach to a stainless steel dumping station that they use to fill plastic jugs.
