Little else reveals the magnitude of what that headgear did for Allanna White, 14, during a ride on a four-wheeler at a picnic in Hominy.
"If she wasn't wearing that helmet, she wouldn't be here," said the girl's mother, Loretta Hauptmann.
The Skiatook woman still shudders when she thinks of that day a little more than two weeks ago, the day her daughter took her first all-terrain vehicle ride.
