Jun. 5--SALLISAW -- A 6-year-old boy has forgotten some of the details surrounding his alleged abuse and neglect at the hands of his aunt and baby sitter two years ago.

But being handcuffed, restrained with electrical tape and kept in a closet aren't among the things he's forgotten. Neither was his aunt's allegedly dropping weights on his feet and denying him something to drink.

The trial against Sharon Kay Smith, 52, of Gore got under way Monday in Sequoyah County District Court before Judge Jeff Payton. Smith is charged with child abuse, neglect and endangerment -- all felonies.
