LAS VEGAS, Feb. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Southwest Gas Corp. (NYSE: SWX) announced 1994 earnings of $1.22 per share, an increase of $0.51 from the $0.71 per share recorded during 1993. The company's 1994 net income applicable to common stock was $25,791,000, compared to the $14,665,000 recorded in the prior year. Average outstanding common shares increased to 21,078,000 in 1994 from 20,729,000 in 1993. The company added a record 48,000 customers in 1994, a 5 percent increase over the 1993 year-end total. Commitments for future service also reached record levels.
