Jun. 5--Devon Energy Corp. chief Larry Nichols is a lot more popular on Wall Street these days.

The Oklahoma City oil and natural gas company's stock price regularly has been setting record highs for much of the past four months and the company's chairman and chief executive officer has spent an increasing amount of time speaking before analysts and investors.
