Article: IBM-Ricoh joint venture begins operations.

Jun. 5--The county's largest employer shrunk by 600 people Monday, but there weren't massive layoffs at IBM's Boulder campus.

In fact, there shouldn't be much of a change for those 600 -- they'll essentially be doing what they did before in the same place.

They just have a new boss.

IBM on Monday closed its previously announced deal to spin off its Boulder-based Printing Services Division, which provides printing services for large businesses, into a joint venture called InfoPrint Solutions that will be controlled by IBM and Japan-based office equipment maker Ricoh Co. The venture will also be based in Boulder.
