Jun. 6--Guy Gilmore is taking the publisher's job at the Pioneer Press during one of the most challenging times in the newspaper industry's history, and in one of the nation's most competitive daily newspaper markets.
But Gilmore, 52, who was named publisher Tuesday, likes what he's seen during his two years at the St. Paul paper.
"I worry less about the competition," he said Tuesday, referring to the Minneapolis-based Star Tribune, and more about "finding pathways to the future."
