In Jeff Kinney's "Diary of a Wimpy Kid" (Amulet Books; $12.95), the main character Greg Heffley immediately wants to set the record straight. The story that you are about to read, despite its title, IS NOT a diary. Because, well, those are for girls.
"I know what it says on the cover, but when mom went out to buy this thing I SPECIFICALLY told her to get one that didn't say 'diary' on it," he says. The middle schooler uses the journal as a way to appease his mom and track his childhood experience.
