Jun. 7--Several hundred golfers, residents and city employees overflowed a patio area at the Page Belcher Golf Course on Wednesday for an open forum about the future of Tulsa's city golf courses.
Mayor Kathy Taylor and District 2 City Councilor Rick Westcott hosted the discussion, during which Taylor explained her original city budget proposal to close 18 holes at Page Belcher and nine holes at the Mohawk Park golf courses.
City officials said the closures would have saved the city about $650,000 a year.
