Jun. 7--Collins Lake's consistency for pumping out lunker trout is hard to match.
Angler Eric Hunter found out this week that catching a monster trout not only gave him bragging rights over his friends but also a check for $62.50 thanks to the lake's weekly 50/50 fishing derby.
Hunter pulled in a 9-pound, 4-ounce trout on what seems to be the trout's favorite bait as of late -- a nightcrawler and PowerBait combination.
"From what we are hearing, most of the trout are being caught from boats at either end of the lake, which is up by the bridge (in the north end) or down by the dam (the south end) of our lake," lake ...
