Most of Jazzmyn Grey's friends have computers at home and now she does, too. Its provenance traces back to a little brainstorming more than a year ago by a couple of staff members at P.E.A.C.E. Inc.
Kathleen O'Brien, the group's comptroller, was talking to Michael Dardis, director of information technology, about a nonprofit organization out west that collected computers to distribute in the community.
He liked the idea and began to chew it over. He gets lots of calls from colleges looking to place students in internships. Dardis wanted to put them to good use and teach them a skill.
