WEST BROOKFIELD - A proposal to spend $92,000 on improvements to Merriam Gilbert Public Library on Route 9 has raised the concern of Selectman John V. Tivnan.
"Every time we turn around," he said, "it seems like there is something that needs fixing there."
Executive Secretary Johanna C. Barry told the Board of Selectmen Tuesday that the library's director has recommended an assessment of the circa 1880 building.
"Lisa Careau (the director) was saying a lot of stuff has been let go," Ms. Barry said.
