WORCESTER - The cocaine supplier for a Worcester police officer beat up a man whom the officer suspected was informing on him, the officer, since resigned, testified yesterday in U.S. District Court.
Brian W. Benedict, who has pleaded guilty to drug conspiracy and is no longer with the Worcester police, acknowledged yesterday that he was present at the On The Rocks bar when his cocaine supplier punched John Saari. But Mr. Benedict said he did not ask Brian Burke, the drug supplier, to punch Mr. Saari.
