Jun. 8--Orlando International Airport's senior director of public safety resigned this week to take a teaching job at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Volusia County.
Robert Raffel's resignation followed a police inquiry into how sensitive security documents landed in an airport dumpster. But Raffel said the investigation did not figure in his decision to leave the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority, where he has worked overseeing security since 2002.
"No, absolutely not," he said. "It was a very good offer, a very tempting challenge to be able to develop a course of study in a new discipline."
