Jun. 8--It seems there's very little that can stand in the way of the blues.
Last year, Henderson's W.C. Handy Blues and Barbecue Festival had record attendance three nights in a row. On the final night, however, a rainstorm rolled through, turning a warm summer evening into a blustery, unpleasant night.
But even that wasn't enough to chase blues fans away. After the rain let up, Audubon Mill Park on the city's riverfront quickly refilled with people wanting to sit and listen, or dance, to the music of some of the nation's biggest blues artists.
