Jun. 8--PITTSTON -- Alumni seeking mementos, folks in need of some school furniture or old computers, and contractors who might be looking for some architectural salvage are all invited to a tag sale at the St. John the Baptist School building Saturday beginning 8 a.m.
And if you can't get there Saturday, you can call ahead and still get a look at what's left and make an offer.
Mike Bantell, a member of the parish advisory and finance councils overseeing the building, said the idea of the sale is to "just help our neighbors." The school was closed by the Diocese of Scranton three years ago, and although much of the items ...
