Jun. 10--"Dr. Phil viewers can be your clients," read the advertisement in a California trade publication for psychotherapists.
The ad caught the eye of San Francisco therapist Michele Honeck. A relative rookie, Honeck was building her practice, and she was intrigued by the idea of tapping into Phil McGraw's wildly popular television show and Web site.
"Dr. Frank Lawlis, the principal content adviser to the "Dr. Phil" show, is developing a national network of therapists to handle the millions of inquiries from Dr. Phil's on-air TV promotions and DrPhil.com," the ad went on.
