Jun. 10--Logs and rope can be used for more than building a towerlike contraption.
They can build fun and friendship, the group of Boy Scouts who created the structure learned Saturday.
The boys were among about 1,100 youths from Berks and surrounding counties and New Jersey participating in the 40th annual Patriot Days at Daniel Boone Homestead in Amity Township.
Each group must build a gateway to welcome other groups to its campsite.
The boys from Troop 319 at Lorane Elementary School found the idea for theirs on the Internet.
