Your magazine continues to impress, and is the object of discussion when we get together; the articles provide ample thought-provoking inspiration, and lately have caused us to consider several fundamental questions:

Can democracy be established by force of arms?

The immediate response from everyone is a definite no, followed by questions like: can democracy be established if there is no previous experience of democracy among the people?

If a "leader" is educated in a democratic country, can he hope to return home and establish such a democracy?

Can a system of "tribal elders" be the basis of, or converted into, a democratic system?
