EXXONMOBIL MAINTAINED ITS GRIP ON THE lead positions in the 2005 major oil rankings. The company, once again, holds the No. 1 spot for total assets, gross revenues and net income out of the major oil companies, and ExxonMobil also nabbed the No. 1 position in Fortune magazine's Fortune 500 annual ranking.
ExxonMobil reported its assets at $208,335 billion, which is up 6.7 percent from 2004's figure of $195,256 billion. BP posted the second highest assets for the year with $206,914 billion.
