Duwayne Burnside is one of the many musical offspring of the late north Mississippi bluesman R.L. Burnside. As a child and teen Duwayne learned from his father and played in his group Sound Machine Groove, but he played more extensively with their neighbor, veteran bluesman Junior Kimbrough in his band the Soul Blue Boys. In his late teens he started to developed his own sound in a band together with Kimbrough's sons David and Kinney, who like Burnside were born in the mid-'60s,
