When the orchestra strikes up tonight at the Tony Awards ceremony at Radio City Music Hall, it will mark the kickoff of the theater world's most important annual rite. One of those watching with special intensity will be Macalester College graduate and Penumbra Theatre veteran James A. Williams. The actor made his Broadway debut this spring in "Radio Golf," the last installment of August Wilson's 10-play cycle and the ninth one to open on Broadway.
"Golf" is nominated for best play, as well as two other Tony awards.
