Jun. 13--IF YOU WERE BORED with freshly squeezed lemonade, funnel cake and large displays of toe rings for sale at last weekend's Harborfest, there was another way to waste time.
The distraction came in the form of a 9- by-12-foot digital screen. Using an AT&T cell phone, festivalgoers could send text messages to a four-digit number and -- presto! -the messages would appear on the giant screen.
It was a high-tech carnival trick we'll be seeing more of. This is a democracy, and the people must be heard.
If I wrote this column on my phone, I'd text each of you, "Rvolution will not b televisd -- will come via txt msg."
