Southfield, Michigan -- Lear Corp. has a new five-year contract to supply seating systems to Bombardier Recreational Products Inc. (BRP) for its Can-Am all-terrain vehicles (ATV). The seating supplier indicated in a 15 March statement that the move is part of an attempt to diversify and explore nontraditional opportunities for its seating expertise.
In May this year, Lear said it will begin providing complete seating assemblies to BRP's all-new ATV assembly plant in Juarez, Mexico. The seats will be made at Lear's existing San Lorenzo, Mexico seating facility which currently employs 2500 workers. This unit also makes seat trim covers for Ford Motor Co. and DaimlerChrysler ...
