Jun. 13--Challenger James G. Lobb defeated his brother-in-law and longtime Kingwood Mayor Fred "Sonny" Peddicord, and three other challengers, Tuesday night.
"I am pleased with the voter turnout in today's city election," Lobb said. "It truly denotes that the voice of the people needed to be and was heard. I am grateful to the citizens of Kingwood for their confidence in electing me as their mayor. Remember, I ask for your continual support as we work together to make Kingwood a place we are proud to call home."
Lobb garnered 220 votes. Peddicord received 133; D.W. "Bill" Bolyard 98; Michael Neel, a writein candidate, 25; and Penny Bolyard ...
