Asus XG Station -- the holy grail for laptops?
At the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in January this year, Taiwanese manufacturer Asus announced its XG Station, a unique external graphics card solution for laptops based on the PCI Express bus that underlies the Express Card expansion slots found in more and more new laptops.
The XG Station is effectively a kind of docking station containing a PCI Express slot suitable for a standard graphics card, with a cable to connect the module to the Express Card slot of a laptop. The XG Station then connects to an external monitor. It provides a diagnostic LCD display of the ...
