The Bible is far more complicated than some Baptists think.

But most Baptists throughout the years would agree that the most difficult thing about understanding the Bible is not the original languages in which it was written or the ancient historical context in which it occurred. That's not the really hard part of the Bible. The most difficult thing about the Bible is the moral and ethical world view to which it calls us. The hard part of the Bible is the Shema (Deut. 6:4-5); the Sermon on the Mount (Matt. 5-7); and 1 Corinthians 13.
