Jun. 15--About 60 jobs will be preserved by the purchase of the Konica Minolta plant in eastern Guilford County.
Bob Harris, president and CEO of Konica Minolta Manufacturing USA, said Thursday that the plant is being bought by ZINK Imaging, which is based near Boston. ZINK Imaging uses a special paper in its printers, which don't use ink.
Terms of the sale aren't being made public. But Harris said the sale includes the 350,000-square-foot building off Interstate 85/40, its equipment and the surrounding 84 acres.
The county appraised the building and land's value at $18.5 million.
