This year's innovation is winter tyres which keep their grip in snow, even when worn half way down
Car owners throughout North America and much of western Europe haven't given winter tyres a second thought for years, but for drivers in central Europe and Scandinavia a good winter tyre is vital.
On a European scale, winter tyres represent 10 to 12 percent of replacement market shipments of new car tyres--between 13 million and 15 million units in any given year. There are wide variations from region to region, and year to year.
