Jun. 15--Not so long ago, Kevin Alves had to lie about his age so he could work on his buddies' cars in Langley Speedway's pits. These days Alves, 21, is a regular in the victory lane on the other side of the pit road wall.
Alves enters tonight's UCAR 25-lapper with victories in all four division races this season. His winning streak at Langley is five consecutive if you add in his UCAR state title win last October.
"I'm definitely surprised," said Alves, a Hampton native who won four races last season. "It took me three or four years until I led my first lap last year. This year the division is definitely stacked with ...
