Jun. 16--Former Warsaw and Logansport coach Al Rhodes has been recommended to be named the Northrop boys basketball coach. The approval could come at the next Fort Wayne Community Schools board meeting June 25. Northrop Athletic Director Bob Shank declined to comment on the report.
Rhodes has coached at Logansport the last four years, where he went 39-47. He has a 27-year record of 444-180, including 22 seasons at Warsaw, where he won a state championship in 1996 and made five final four appearances.
During his tenure at Logansport, the Berries went 5-16, 7-14, 16-7 and 11-10. He left Warsaw after the 2001-02 season, when the Tigers finished 21-3, ...
