Health education: knowledge for life.

Health education has matured to the point where it is becoming a "complete" content area. It has truly grown into a subject that provides students with knowledge and skills for improving the quality of their lives. Unfortunately, as the need for health education has increased, the health class requirement for students has not increased proportionately.

In past days, "health" included topics such as proper hygiene, dental care, the need for adequate exercise and rest, a nonsmoking unit, warnings of drug abuse, and a bit of nutrition.
