The merging of cartoon and poem is what I call cartoon poetry. I coined this term when I came to understand that learning language consists largely of the blending of visual, auditory, imaginary, and conceptual experiences.
Why combine cartoons with poetry? Several rationales exist for teaching the two together.
* Poetry and cartoons are literary expressions that deal with the range of human feelings. Coupled, they provide a full scope of techniques that are available to artists and poets alike. Neither medium is necessarily bound by strict rules; the artist and the poet determine the guidelines they will work under and project their feelings accordingly.
