WORCESTER - The New England Surge have certainly improved since their season opener, but not quite enough.
The Surge fell to the Rochester Raiders, 49-40, last night in an entertaining game at the DCU Center. In their franchise debut on March 24, the Surge lost at Rochester, 77-40.
Rochester won its ninth consecutive game to finish its regular season 10-2 and wrap up the Atlantic Division regular-season title. New England had its six-game winning streak snapped and fell to 7-4 with a game left at the last-place New York-New Jersey Revolution Saturday.
