Jun. 16--Entertainment tycoon Paiboon Damrongchaitham has been fined 31.77 million baht for criminal insider trading in shares of the publisher Matichon Plc.
The Securities and Exchange Commission also fined Pachree Manoonpanich, a former GMM Media employee, 333,333 baht for her role in the case.
"From June 2005 to September 2005, purchases of Matichon shares were made through accounts of Ms Pachree and other persons related to Mr Paiboon," the SEC said in a statement.
"The transactions used information related to GMM Media's takeover of Matichon that had not yet been publicly released."
