ISLAMABAD, June 15 (PPI): Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Dr Sher Afgan Niazi Friday said presidential election is mandatory between September 15 to October 15, 2007 as provided in the constitution.
Dr Niazi said, the presidential election has to be held within 60 days of the completion of the president's tenure in office. "The term of President Pervez Musharraf in office ends on November 15 and fresh presidential election will have to be held in September or October," Sher Afgan said.He said under the second schedule, Chief Election Commissioner would conduct the election.
