PARIS, June 19 /PRNewswire/ -- Lockheed Martin announced today the Japan Meteorological Agency has installed a WindTracer(R) Doppler lidar system at the Tokyo International Airport, commonly known as Haneda Airport.

Developed and produced by Lockheed Martin Coherent Technologies, WindTracer provides air traffic control personnel advanced warning of wind hazards, enabling them to offer precise, timely direction to pilots during takeoff and landing. The WindTracer is monitoring wind activity and low-level wind shear that affect landing aircraft.
