WORCESTER - U.S. District Judge F. Dennis Saylor IV will hold a hearing July 20 on a contempt charge against admitted drug dealer Thomas J. Vigliatura.
Judge Saylor can summarily sentence Mr. Vigliatura to up to 6 months in prison for refusing to testify after he was the subject of a compulsion order that also granted him immunity for his testimony. Mr. Vigliatura, who is awaiting separate sentencing on his guilty plea to drug charges, refused to testify June 7 in the trial of his codefendant, suspended Worcester police officer Heriberto Arroyo, who was convicted that same day nevertheless.
