Arts education is a manifold tapestry that meets the needs of our nation's diverse youth. The arts are meritorious in themselves, pleasurable as an end, and need no outside excuse or pretext. They warrant in-depth attention apart From any relationship to other disciplines. However, for policymakers in this era of competing demands for scarce resources and financial and moral triage, it is relevant to emphasize that arts education also helps to prepare youth for the workplace and thereby to contribute to our economy.
