MILWAUKEE -- The Milwaukee Brewers are hoping what happened to Corey Hart last season happens to Tony Gwynn Jr. this year.
The Brewers sent Gwynn to Class AAA Nashville Monday, a move to make room for second baseman Rickie Weeks' return from the disabled list.
Brewers manager Ned Yost said he doesn't consider the move a demotion.
"There's no doubt he's a major league player," Yost said of Gwynn. "He's still evolving as major league player. That's the reason he was sent down."
